Yoga Basics Course

Welcome to Yoga Basics. This is an on-demand video version of my Yoga Basics Course.

This is a five-part beginners' course which focuses on building confidence in key yoga poses and sequences, with adaptations to suit your body. We will also explore some different styles of yoga and delve into a little yoga philosophy. Hopefully, by the end of the course you’ll know your downward dog from your cobra, and will feel confident enough to join a regular class.

Total duration around 6 hours

  • 3 informational videos
  • 10 detailed posture videos with modifications (around 5 min each)
  • 5 full classes (45-50 minutes each)
  • Downloadable progress tracker and postures illustrations

Suggested equipment

  • Yoga or exercise mat
  • A blanket or towel
  • Two yoga blocks, chunky books or similar
  • A study chair with no arms

What to wear

You certainly don’t need any special clothes for doing yoga. Anything that is comfortable and allows you to move easily is fine. I often practice in my pyjamas! I would definitely encourage you to take your shoes and socks off though.

Background Music

Although I usually teach with music playing, the videos don’t have any. Partly for rights reasons and also because some people don’t like it. Feel free to play some music in the background if you wish. This is the Spotify playlist I use for my classes - Ambient Relaxation
